做手工百合花

When I was in elementary school, we had the craft lessons once a week. The craft activity I want to talk about today happened about thirteen years ago when I was still a grade-five elementary school student. In that class, the teacher taught us to make the handmade lilies（手工百合花） and asked us to send them to the old people living in the nursing home（养老院） as the presents since it would be the Double Ninth Festival（重阳节） a week later. I set up a group with my deskmate and we made the handmade lilies together according to my teachers’ instructions. A week later, we went to the nursing house together and sent those hand-made lilies to the old people there. In my perspective, this activity is really meaningful. What I want to mention firstly is that it can let the old people feel the love from the younger generation and can also teach the younger generation to respect the old people. Most of the old people in the nursing house are those who have lost their husbands or wives, and their children live far away from them. This activity can convey the warmth and the love from the society as well as the younger generation（向他们传递来自社会和年轻一代的温暖和关爱）, which I believe is really meaningful. Secondly, this activity taught me how to cooperate with others. During the process of making the hand-made lilies, my deskmate and I distributed our tasks precisely（精确分工）. I was in charge of cutting and folding the paper, and my deskmate took the responsibility of decorating those handmade lilies. I believe the cooperative capacity I learned through the activity will help me a lot in my future career since cooperation is indispensible（不可或缺的） in the work.
